Google+, a social networking product of search engine giant Google, initially started as an extension of Gmail, another hugely popular product of Google Inc. Because of this when you create your Google plus profile you automatically create a Gmail account. Same way your old Gmail account is utilized to create your Google+ profile. Therefore when you open your Google+ profile you will automatically see all your Gmail contacts in the Google+ chat tool. However many of those friends may not be added to your Google+ circles and thus you may miss out their posts and updates.
Adding those friends to your Google+ circles is very easy. Here we provide you with step by step instruction on how to add your contacts from Gmail to Google+.
Step 1
Open your Google+ profile and go to Home tab.

In the Google+ Home Page, at the top you will see tabs of Google+ circles that you have created. By default there are Friends, Family, Acquaintance, and Following tabs. These tabs are used to filter the content displayed on the Home Page according to circle. For example if you clicked on Friends tab, only the posts by people added in friends circle will be displayed on the home page. Now click on the tab of the circle in which you wish to add the contact.
Step 3
Now in the filtered Home Page, on the right side you will see the number of friends added in the circle along with micro thumbnails of their profile. In the same column, just below thumbnails, you will see Add by name input box. Type the name of the friend in the input box that you wish to add in the circle. Automatically you will see a list of people matching that name.
Step 4
Just click on the name that you wish to add, and viola!! He is added to your circle.
Simple isn’t it. Now to check whether the process was successful or not, type again the name in Add by name input box and in the automatically displayed results you will see the name now added to the desired circle.
